Commercial Collaboration

Commercial collaboration has to be clearly stated in all influencer’s channels and also in the company’s own channels. The expression used is “commercial collaboration” if the content provider gets paid or other form of financial benefit, or there is a contract between a company and the content provider.

The mention of commercial collaboration needs to be put in the beginning of a post/video and a different font or other means of emphasis is to be used. Also the name of the partner company has to be mentioned.

Other benefits

Other benefits influencer can gain from his/her social media channels has to be also clearly stated. These can be e.g. product samples, event invitations, press trips as well as paid commissions from affiliate links.  

The difference between commercial collaboration and gained befefits is that there is no agreement of content creation between influencer and the company. The company has offered their products or services for free without any obligations.

The gained benefits has to be also clearly stated in influencer channels using e.g. “*product sponsored by” or “*content includes affiliate links”.

 

Blog

The mention of “commercial collaboration” and the name of the partner company needs to be put clearly in the beginning of a blog post. Other gained benefits has to be mentioned by using e.g. “*product sponsored by” or “*content includes affiliate links”.

Youtube

Commercial collaboration has to be mentioned on YouTube videos both in the content (marked “video contains paid promotion”) and in the video’s description. It is also recommended that Youtubers will mention the collaboration clearly verbally on their videos.

Instagram

On Instagram the commercial collaboration has to be mentioned on post using #paidcontent or #paidpartnership. This has to marked at least in that language the most of the followers speak. Also the name of the partner company has to be mentioned. There is also new tool in Instagram for paid content but at the moment it is only available for few influencers.

Facebook

The mention of commercial collaboration and the name of the partner company needs to be put in the Facebook post before links and pictures. The collaboration can be also mentioned by using new “Tag business partner” -tool. In paid Facebook ads the mention “Sponsored” will come automatically.

Instagram Stories and Snapchat

The same principle applies also to live streams and real-time storytelling, e.g. Snapchat or Instagram stories, in which commercial cooperation is to be transparent and regularly mentioned.
